A few things about me
Hello and welcome! I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. I am a devoted mother to three. My family is the #1 thing that is MOST important to me. It has taken me a long time to really find that work/balance, but I think I have found it! My family and I have called the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota home since 2009, though my roots are deeply planted in Georgia, and I proudly carry the spirit of a true Georgia Peach. The South will always hold a special place in my heart. *See the picture on the left, it is from the Covered Bridge near my childhood home.
Professional Background
With a deep-seated passion for both non-profits and startup businesses, I have dedicated my career to helping organizations grow and thrive. My experience spans a variety of roles, all centered around fostering community engagement and supporting the mission-driven goals of the entities I work with. I have a background in healthcare as well as being a fitness instructor. For many years I taught hundreds of people, Zumba and other type of workouts. There is no better feeling then seeing people laugh, dance and have fun while getting healthy! My work is driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact, whether by guiding new businesses through their early stages or supporting non-profits in achieving their goals. I am currently the President of Northern Hills Sources of Support and have been a board member for 2 years. I am always on the lookout for different ways I can help the community!
Personal Interests
When I'm not immersed in my professional endeavors or managing the daily activities of my household, I enjoy a range of outdoor and recreational activities. These include working out, paddleboarding, dancing, hiking, camping, and playing volleyball. Spending quality time with family and friends is a priority for me, as it brings joy and balance to my life.
Advocacy and Community Involvement
I am also a committed advocate for individuals with special needs and those who are unable to speak up for themselves. This advocacy is a cornerstone of my personal and professional life, reflecting my dedication to ensuring that all individuals have a voice and the support they need to thrive. I also have post experience of bringing ballot measures to South Dakota in order to pass new legislation.
